Aged seven Daniel joined the Young Wexford Singers choir conducted by Eanna McKenna. With these he performed on the Rte Late Late Toy Show (2007), on TG4 Nolliag no.1 (2008), and performed a solo on Carols for Wexford on RTE1 (2009). In 2008 he appeared in the Wexford Light Opera Society production of Ragtime as Edgar.

He starred as the main role in Oliver Twist with Oyster Lane in 2008 and again with Festival Productions in the Wexford Opera House in 2009. In 2009 and 2011 he won gold in the All Ireland Community Games U14 solo singing. Earlier this year he won the All Ireland Talent Show on RTE1 and €50,000 prize money representing the East. Following this he was presented with a Special Achievement Award at the Wexford People of the Year awards ceremony.
